Brittany has so much to offer locally that this description can only give a taste of what is available in the surrounding area. Detailed advice is included in the Home Instruction and Information Page.
Beaches: There are lots of wonderful beaches along the Dinard / St Briac coast, about 20 minutes by car from the house.
Cycling: Generally a very popular cycling area, but off main road cycling (particularly suitable for family cycling) is available from the nearby village of La Vicomte by pathway along the River Rance to Dinan ( + beyond along the River Rance to the Canal D’Ile and Villaine). This cycling and walking route has lovely river views and is traffic free.
Boat Trips: Boat trips on the River Rance can be taken from Dinan.
Exploring / Sightseeing: Dinan - a beautiful medieval town - with its own medieval port less then 10km away. Picturesque street walks, shops, cafes and restaurants. Dinard is an archetypal French Edwardian seaside town. Le Mont St Michel is one of France’s biggest visitor attractions about 35 minutes by car. A must – see but get there early to avoid queues.

Rowing: Tenants have use of our dinghy on the nearby river Rance. It is a pleasant short row across the river to the pretty riverside village of Mordreuc, passing en route a restored chateau, and possible meeting a local celebrity, Florence the seal on Mordreuc beach.
Sport: Golf, tennis, riding, sailing are all available nearby
Restaurants: There are two Michelin star restaurants within 30mins by car, and there are lots of simpler good food and good value restaurants in nearby towns. Our visitors book is packed with guest comments and provides an excellent guide
Markets: Popular markets are held in Plouer and Dinan weekly.
